We Believe All Dog Training Should Be Positive Fun And Force-Free
“Hello, I’m Sonya, the owner and trainer here at Waggy Tails Dog Training.
I have owned dogs large and small, from Irish wolfhounds right down to my lovely beagle, Pippa. I have competed in many dog show competitions including Crufts over the years. Training my dogs, and those of my friends, family, and clients, has given me great pleasure and satisfaction seeing them come on over the time of their training.
Professional development is essential to me as a trainer and a person, I feel it is essential to update your knowledge and skills on a regular basis and continue to do so, training with IABTC, The Kennel Club, Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and Canine Principles, being the most recent. Alongside my Trainer qualifications, I am an advance first aider (humans) and a hold Canine First Aid certification. I have also studied canine psychology & behaviour and taken courses on canine nutrition and canine anatomy & physiology as it is important to me not to just look at the behaviours but to look at the whole dog as I take a holistic approach.
I took the step after lockdown to swap marking for barking after a successful career as a teacher and college lecturer and I love my current role supporting people in their journey with their dog or puppy.
I feel it is really important to give my clients and their humans the most up to date positive training opportunities, which are reward-based and most of all, fun. I believe that silly questions don’t exist – ask away! That’s what I’m here for and we all never stop learning.
I look forward to speaking with you to find the right solution for you and your dog/puppy. Give me a call or text or fill a contact form in. I always aim to get back to you within 1 business day.”
