We Believe All Dog Training Should Be Positive Fun And Force-Free

“Hello, I’m Sonya, the owner and trainer here at Waggy Tails Dog Training.
I have owned dogs large and small, from Irish wolfhounds right down to my lovely beagle, Pippa. I have competed in many dog show competitions including Crufts over the years. Training my dogs, and those of my friends, family, and clients, has given me great pleasure and satisfaction seeing them come on over the time of their training.

Professional development is essential to me as a trainer and a person, I feel it is essential to update your knowledge and skills on a regular basis and continue to do so, training with IABTC, The Kennel Club, Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and Canine Principles, being the most recent. Alongside my Trainer qualifications, I am an advance first aider (humans) and a hold Canine First Aid certification. I have also studied canine psychology & behaviour and taken courses on canine nutrition and canine anatomy & physiology as it is important to me not to just look at the behaviours but to look at the whole dog as I take a holistic approach.

I took the step after lockdown to swap marking for barking after a successful career as a teacher and college lecturer and I love my current role supporting people in their journey with their dog or puppy.

I feel it is really important to give my clients and their humans the most up to date positive training opportunities, which are reward-based and most of all, fun. I believe that silly questions don’t exist – ask away! That’s what I’m here for and we all never stop learning.

I look forward to speaking with you to find the right solution for you and your dog/puppy. Give me a call or text or fill a contact form in. I always aim to get back to you within 1 business day.”

Thank you Sonya for sharing your fabulous knowledge, the simple steps for training our pups. I'm so glad we found you. The one to one session was amazingly simple but so fantastic to watch and to put into practice. The lads don't realise that they are being trained, to them it's fun and for me too. I'm so pleased with their progress in such a short time. The 'come' command has been so invaluable while walking them on the lanes. It keeps them safe in an instant. Very one that meets them on their adventures, whether in the park or in a cafe they all comment how polite little puppies they both are! Thank you xxxx

Sonya come round on short notice to give advice and help me understand my new troublesome rescue bulldog a bit more. She had a positive impact straight away with him herself and then give me some pointers and help to do it myself. Noticed a difference in the first day. Will be having more sessions soon. Would recommend.

Sonia helped me with my dogs barking in my garden. Within the first session I saw a change in his behaviour. Sonia was very reassuring and supportive for both me and buddy. Nothing ever seems too much trouble. I would highly recommend Sonia to everyone! Thankyou again!

Sonya was brilliant with training my husky Wolf. We were having some issues with behaviour which Sonya helped us in our approach and how to train him to not do this. Thank you so much. Definitely recommend!!
